She completed her internship at the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function where she led group and individual programs for older adults, and has worked in a school setting with children and adolescents with autism, developmental delay, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Laura believes that music therapy helps develop verbal expression and strengthens connections with others, attention and focus, and helps to integrate body and mind. She works with clients to develop self-esteem and motivation, and also with cognitive-behavioral issues and physiological functioning through the therapeutic use of music. Laura’s person-centered, creative approach emphasizes active participation in music, which includes listening, playing an instrument, singing, movement, or songwriting.
